David Borrington's work explores, and is a direct response to, fast-
moving current social and world events. Through exposing ?aws in the
crumbling western democratic model Ä which is too often brutal, unjust
and oppressive Ä his work aims to support the growth of true democracy
and justice for all mankind
His work ?nds resonance in the words of the late Justice William Douglas: “As nightfall does not come all at once,
neither does oppression. In both instances, there is a twilight when everything remains seemingly unchanged. And it
is in such a twilight that we all must be most aware of change in the air Ä however slight Ä lest we become unwitting
victims of the darkness.”
